The BJP high command has appointed Nitish Nabin as the party’s National Working President, entrusting him with key organisational responsibilities at the national level. Currently serving as a minister in Bihar, Nitish Nabin was selected for the post by the BJP Parliamentary Board.
A senior leader in the party, Nitish Nabin has been elected as an MLA five times and has established a strong presence in Bihar politics. Party sources said his discipline, management skills and leadership qualities played a major role in his elevation to the crucial national position.
The post of National Working President is considered one of the most important roles in the BJP. The Working President assists the National President, oversees party programmes across the country and plays a key role in implementing strategies during elections. Political observers note that such a high-ranking national post being allotted to a leader from Bihar is relatively rare and is seen as part of the party’s push to encourage younger leadership.
Nitish Nabin is known to enjoy strong support in Bihar, and the party believes his experience will be valuable at the national level. Meanwhile, suspense continues over the appointment of the BJP National President, with indications that the high command may announce a decision in the coming days.
