Annamayya: In a tragic incident that has cast a shadow over Annamayya district, nine labourers lost their lives in a road accident late Sunday night when a lorry carrying a load of mangoes overturned on the Reddipalle tank bund while heading toward Railway Koduru. Several others sustained serious injuries.
Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased were workers employed for mango harvesting. Rescue teams rushed to the scene, suspecting that some individuals may have been trapped beneath the overturned vehicle. The injured were immediately transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, while police have launched a full investigation into the cause of the accident.
