A significant political development has taken place in West Bengal, where BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has been sworn in as the new Chief Minister of the state. The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Governor R.N. Ravi at the historic Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata, marking a major transition in the state’s political landscape.
The grand ceremony was held under tight security arrangements and witnessed the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and several Chief Ministers including Rekha Gupta (Delhi), Madan Lal Sharma (Rajasthan), Mohan Yadav (Madhya Pradesh), Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh), and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
In a key development, five newly elected MLAs also took oath as ministers in the cabinet alongside the Chief Minister. The ministers include Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Nisith Pramanik, Khudiram Tudu, and Ashok Kirtania, marking the formation of the new state cabinet.
With this development, Suvendu Adhikari has become the ninth Chief Minister of West Bengal, as per the report. The event is being seen as a major political shift in the state’s governance structure.
Dilip Ghosh, who began his career as an RSS pracharak and later served as BJP state president and MP, has been inducted into the cabinet and appointed as Deputy Chief Minister, reflecting his long-standing role in strengthening the party in the state.
Agnimitra Paul, a former internationally recognized fashion designer who worked with several film personalities, also took oath as Deputy Chief Minister. The cabinet also includes Nisith Pramanik, Khudiram Tudu, a school teacher representing tribal interests, and Ashok Kirtania, a prominent Matua community leader, each bringing diverse backgrounds and regional representation into the government.
