Zurich: Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra secured the silver medal at the Zurich Diamond League with a best throw of 85.01 meters. Germany’s Julian Weber emerged as the winner with a stunning 91.51 meters, while Trinidad and Tobago’s Keshorn Walcott took bronze with 84.95 meters. Despite finishing second, Chopra continues to remain the World No. 1 in javelin throw, with Weber placed third in the global rankings.

Weber dominated early in the competition, registering 91.37 meters in his opening attempt and 91.51 meters in the second. Neeraj managed 84.35 meters in his first throw and 82 meters in the second, before fouling in the next three attempts. In his final effort, he produced an 85.01-meter throw that secured him the runner-up spot.
Walcott, who was in contention for silver, faltered in his last attempt with just 78.30 meters, allowing Neeraj to edge past him. The result adds to Chopra’s illustrious record, having earlier clinched the Zurich Diamond League Final in 2022, where he secured his maiden title at the event.
