New Delhi: The NDA continues to enjoy a strong lead more than a year after forming the government, according to the latest India Today–C Voter Mood of the Nation survey. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA secured 293 seats, relying on allies TDP and JD(U) for a majority as the BJP fell short of the halfway mark. Despite falling well below its “400-plus” target, the alliance has consolidated support, with the new survey projecting 324 seats for the NDA if elections were held today.
The findings highlight a decline for the Congress, which won 234 seats in 2024 but is now projected to secure just 208 seats as part of the INDIA bloc. Conducted between July 1 and August 14, 2025, across all constituencies, the poll gathered inputs from 54,788 respondents and analyzed 1,52,038 tracker interviews. NDA’s vote share is expected to rise to 46.7% from 44% in 2024, while the INDIA bloc is projected at 40.9%.
The BJP on its own is seen winning 260 seats, slightly down from February’s projection of 281, though analysts note that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies and global developments, including trade tensions with the U.S., have further strengthened support for the ruling alliance.
