A 10-year-old girl from Nagpur was seriously injured in a zipline accident in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, during a family vacation. The girl, Trisha Bijwe, had travelled to Manali with her parents, Prafull Bijwe and his wife, as part of a summer holiday trip.
The incident occurred on June 8, when Trisha attempted to ride a zipline across a valley. Midway through the ride, the zipline cable reportedly gave way, causing her to plunge nearly 30 feet into a gorge. She sustained serious injuries, including fractures in her leg, according to preliminary medical reports.
Trisha was initially treated at a local hospital in Manali and later shifted to a hospital in Chandigarh for further care. She is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Nagpur, where doctors are closely monitoring her condition.
A video of the accident has surfaced, clearly showing the zipline cable giving way and Trisha falling into the valley. The Bijwe family has alleged that there were inadequate safety measures at the zipline site and that no immediate assistance was provided following the incident. They shared the video with the media as evidence of negligence and a lack of emergency response.
The family is demanding an explanation from the zipline operators and has called for stricter safety protocols at adventure tourism sites. “We came for a vacation, not to risk our child’s life,” they said, expressing deep concern over the lack of regulation and oversight.
They have urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the accident and take steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
