Union Minister Bandi Sanjay’s son, Bandi Bhagirath, has surrendered before the police in connection with a POCSO case registered against him. He appeared before the authorities for questioning in the presence of his legal counsel. The development comes amid ongoing investigation into the allegations, with police continuing procedural formalities as part of the case.
Reacting to his son’s surrender, Bandi Sanjay stated that the decision was taken in accordance with the law and to extend full cooperation to the investigation. He emphasized that no individual is above the law, irrespective of status, and said that his son was produced before the police in a spirit of legal compliance.
The minister further said that Bhagirath had maintained that he had not committed any wrongdoing. He added that immediately after the complaint, they had considered handing him over to the police station, but later consulted legal experts before proceeding further in the matter.
Bandi Sanjay also stated that legal advice suggested the possibility of the case being dismissed and bail being granted, which led to some delay. Expressing confidence in the judiciary, he said he believes his son will get bail and reiterated that they chose to cooperate with the investigation respecting the legal process.
