Amaravati: The ACB court on Monday granted several relaxations to YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy, who was recently arrested in connection with the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam. The court issued specific directives to jail authorities to ensure the MP’s well-being during judicial custody.
As per the court order, Mithun Reddy is to be provided with a bed, a television, a western-style toilet facility, a mosquito net, yoga mat, walking shoes, and access to daily newspapers. He has also been permitted to receive three home-cooked meals daily from outside sources.
In addition, the court granted permission for Reddy to hold private meetings with one attendant and two lawyers, five days a week. Jail officials have been instructed to supply him with his regular medication, notebooks, and pens for personal use.
The court’s directives come amid heightened scrutiny surrounding the high-profile case, which has triggered significant political debate in the state.
