The death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has sent shockwaves across the world. Reports indicate that Khamenei was killed in a meticulously planned operation by the United States, with Israel collaborating in the strikes under “Operation Epic Fury.” The attack coincided with a meeting Khamenei held on Saturday with his key advisers, including Shankhani and Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani. Intelligence agencies, including the CIA and Israeli intelligence, had reportedly been monitoring Khamenei’s movements for several months.
In response to the strikes, MIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi condemned the attacks and urged the Indian government to take a strong stand. He described the killing of Khamenei as illegal and emphasized that the Supreme Leader was a prominent figure within the Shia community. Owaisi called for immediate cessation of the attacks and urged India to play a proactive role in international peace efforts.
Concerns have been raised over escalating instability in Gulf countries. Nearly ten million Indians are employed across the region, and continued conflict could put them at serious risk. Owaisi warned that ongoing hostilities may lead to widespread unrest and urged the Indian government to intervene diplomatically to prevent further escalation.
Meanwhile, protests erupted in Hyderabad’s Old City following news of Khamenei’s death. The local organization Tanzim-e-Jafferi organized a rally at the historic Haveli area to mourn him. Large crowds of Muslims took to the streets, chanting slogans against Israel and the United States, causing severe traffic disruptions. Reports confirmed that Khamenei, along with his daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and grandson, died in the joint US-Israeli strike on Saturday morning.
