Hyderabad: The Kukatpally Housing Board has decided to cancel the auction of multiple plots after several buyers failed to make the required payments. The auction, conducted in December last year, saw only 19 out of the 44 available plots being sold. However, authorities have now annulled the sale of nine plots in the West Zone due to non-compliance with payment terms.
As per auction guidelines, bidders were required to pay 25% of the bid amount within five days and the remaining sum at the time of registration. However, only three buyers completed the full payment, while others made partial payments to secure their bids. Despite two months having passed since the auction, nine buyers have not paid even the initial 25%, prompting officials to cancel their bids and initiate the process of issuing notices.

The auction has also become a subject of legal scrutiny. Residents of Phase-15 opposed the sale and approached the Telangana High Court, citing irregularities. Petitioners argued that a portion of the auctioned land had been designated for road expansion but was instead included in the sale, allegedly violating regulations. Initially, the proposed road width was set at 80 to 100 feet, but 10 feet of this planned expansion was reportedly sold as part of the auction.
With the case still pending in the High Court, authorities have stated that the registration process for the remaining plots will proceed only after a final judicial verdict.
