Warangal: Minister Konda Surekha on Sunday made controversial remarks criticizing the BRS government and its leadership. She alleged that those obstructing the Musi River cleanup would “perish like pests” and accused officials involved in phone tapping of being shielded abroad. Labeling the BRS regime as “Tughlaq rule,” she ridiculed its leaders, suggesting they seek psychiatric help.
Surekha specifically accused Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) of orchestrating the attack on the collector during the Lagcherla incident and expressed anger over the alleged exploitation of innocents. She stated that action against KTR would follow after a thorough investigation. The minister further claimed that the BRS government under KCR had pushed Telangana into significant financial debt.
During her visit to Warangal, Surekha announced a “victory rally” in Hanamkonda to mark a year of Congress governance. She lauded Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s focus on Warangal’s development, including its transformation into Telangana’s second capital and plans for an airport. Surekha emphasized the implementation of five out of six guarantees promised by Congress, adding, “Revanth aims to empower one crore women to become millionaires.”
She also highlighted the importance of caste-based surveys being conducted in Telangana, calling them a historic move. “Our government continues to prioritize welfare and progress, even amid challenges inherited from the previous administration,” she said.
Seethakka Accuses BRS of Neglecting Farmers
In a related development, Minister Seethakka criticized the BRS government for waiving loans for only 21 lakh farmers in a decade. She contrasted this with Congress’ achievement of waiving loans for 23 lakh farmers within its first year in power. Seethakka accused BRS and BJP of focusing solely on political agendas at the expense of public welfare. She reaffirmed Congress’ commitment to addressing the needs of the people despite obstacles created by opposition parties.
