The controversy between Telangana Minister Konda Surekha and film actor Nagarjuna has come to an end following a public apology from the minister. Surekha expressed regret over her earlier remarks about Nagarjuna and clarified that she had no intention of hurting him or his family.
Nagarjuna had filed a defamation case against Surekha in the Nampally Special Court, citing video clips and social media posts of her comments. The petition claimed that her remarks had damaged the reputation and dignity of Nagarjuna and his family and sought legal action under criminal law as well as compensation under Section 356 of the BSS Act.

The case was scheduled for hearing on Thursday, November 13, but Minister Surekha did not appear. Her lawyer filed an absent petition, prompting the court to defer the hearing to December 2. Meanwhile, Nagarjuna chose to withdraw the case, leading the court to close the matter.
The controversy originated from Surekha’s comments on Nagarjuna concerning his son Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s divorce, which came in the backdrop of her earlier criticisms of BRS Working President KTR. Following the backlash, Surekha posted a midnight tweet on November 11 expressing regret and later uploaded an official apology on her Twitter account, effectively ending the dispute.
