The Khairatabad Ganesh immersion procession is set to commence at 7:00 AM on September 17. Earlier on Monday, at 9:00 PM, the Maha Harathi ceremony took place, followed by the Kalash Puja at 11:30 PM tonight. Following these rituals, the priests will proceed to move the Maha Ganapathi. After midnight, the idol will be mounted on the tusker for transportation. By tomorrow afternoon, the Khairatabad Ganesh will be transported to the crane near Hussain Sagar for the immersion. Organizers have made arrangements to complete the immersion process within two hours.
In preparation for the immersion ceremony, Hyderabad will implement traffic restrictions. A total of 64 traffic diversions will be in effect from 6:00 AM on September 17 until 8:00 AM on September 18. Eight parking facilities have been arranged near Tank Bund. Additionally, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering the city for the duration of the event. Additional Traffic Commissioner Viswaprasad has advised the public that any disturbances caused under the influence of alcohol during the immersion will result in strict enforcement measures.
