Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has indicated that he could soon face arrest following the release of the Justice P.C. Ghose Commission report on the Kaleshwaram project.

During a six-hour strategy meeting at his Erravelli farmhouse on Monday, KCR reportedly told senior party leaders that some BRS members might also be arrested but urged them not to panic. The meeting was attended by Harish Rao, K.T. Rama Rao, Jagadish Reddy, Niranjan Reddy, and Prashanth Reddy.

KCR criticized the commission’s findings, referring to it as a “Congress Commission,” and said the report’s conclusions were expected. He dismissed claims that the Kaleshwaram project was a failure, calling such remarks baseless, and directed party cadres to counter misinformation and highlight the project’s benefits to the public.

The Justice Ghose Commission report, which surfaced in the media earlier today, reportedly attributes major lapses in planning and execution to KCR, along with then ministers Harish Rao and Etela Rajender. It also states that expert warnings against constructing the project were ignored. A special Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is scheduled to review the findings. Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy is expected to present a detailed analysis before the Cabinet decides on possible actions against those held responsible.
