Former Chief Minister KCR, Minister Harish Rao, and Smitha Sabharwal have been served with notices by the Bhupalpalli District Court. This action follows a petition filed by local resident Rajalingamurthy, alleging significant damage to public funds due to the collapse of the Medigadda Barrage. The court has instructed KCR and Smitha Sabharwal to attend a hearing scheduled for October 17.
Notices have also been issued to MLA Harish Rao, Mega Krishna Reddy, Rajat Kumar, L&T MD Suresh Kumar, and Irrigation Chief Engineers Hari and Ram. Rajalingamurthy contends that the project’s expenditure has ballooned from ₹35,000 crores to ₹1,35,000 crores, claiming this as a misuse of public funds. He warned that such errors driven by political self-interest will face legal repercussions. Additionally, he announced plans to report past government corruption and illegal constructions to the Hydara Commissioner Ranganath. Rajalingamurthy also expressed enthusiasm for the restoration of ponds and lakes for future generations.
