Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has granted relief to former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and  Harish Rao by suspending the notices issued by the Bhupalpally district court in connection with the Medigadda Barrage case. The court has also postponed the hearing to the 7th of next month.

A private petition was filed by Nagavelli Rajalingamurthi in the Bhupalpally Magistrate Court, accusing KCR, Harish Rao, and others of causing the submergence of the Medigadda Barrage. However, the Magistrate Court dismissed the petition, citing lack of jurisdiction, prompting Rajalingamurthi to file a revision petition in the district court.

The Bhupalpally district court issued notices to KCR, Harish Rao, and others in response. In turn, the leaders approached the High Court, arguing that the district court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case. They requested the High Court to quash the notices.

The High Court, after reviewing the petition, ruled in favor of KCR and Harish Rao, quashing the notices issued by the Bhupalpally district court. The court observed that the district court did not have the authority to hear the case, referencing previous rulings from the High Court and the Supreme Court.

Additionally, the state’s highest court issued notices to Rajalingamurthi, who had filed the petition regarding the Medigadda Barrage in the Bhupalpally court.
