Telangana Jagruthi President and BRS MLC, K. Kavitha, has warned that local body elections in Telangana will not proceed unless the Congress party fulfills its promise to increase BC reservations to 42%. Speaking on Friday, Kavitha emphasized that the government should only consider conducting elections after Congress implements the BC reservation hike, as outlined in the Kamareddy Declaration. She made it clear that protests would be organized if this demand is not met.

Kavitha also announced that a large public rally would be held on January 3 at Indira Park to press Congress for the implementation of its promise to BC communities. In a meeting with over 40 BC community leaders, Kavitha discussed strategies to put pressure on the government to act on BC issues. She asserted that local elections cannot be held without addressing the key issue of BC reservation increases, as promised by Congress.
Additionally, Kavitha urged the central government to conduct a caste-based enumeration as part of the upcoming national census to highlight and address BC issues. She criticized the Congress government for halting BC welfare schemes initiated by the BRS and called for the continuation of these schemes to ensure the welfare of BC communities.
