Hyderabad: The much-anticipated film Kannappa has encountered significant issues prior to its release following the reported theft of a critical hard drive containing film data. The hard drive was dispatched from Mumbai’s Hive Studios via DTDC courier to the 24 Frames Factory office in Hyderabad. Upon arrival, the package was handed over to a young woman named Charitha by office staff member Raghu. Subsequently, Charitha disappeared along with the hard drive.
In response, Executive Producer Vijay Kumar Reddy of 24 Frames Factory filed a formal complaint with Film Nagar police, who have now launched an investigation into the theft.
Manchu Family Dispute Deepens Amid Hard Drive Controversy
The incident has intensified existing tensions within the Manchu family. Actor-producer Manchu Vishnu publicly accused his brother Manchu Manoj of involvement in the theft. Vishnu alleged that Raghu serves as Manoj’s personal assistant and that Charitha is connected to Manoj’s office. Vishnu claimed that the hard drive parcel, which arrived 45 days ago, was intercepted by Manoj’s team rather than the security personnel at Vishnu’s residence, asserting that the hard drive remains with them.

The Manchu family has recently been embroiled in multiple public disputes, and this latest controversy appears to have further strained relations between the siblings.
At a recent Bhairevam function, Manchu Manoj added to the speculation by publicly thanking Charitha for her efforts, stating he would be indebted to her for life and praising the assistance she provided to his brother. This has heightened speculation about her central role in the ongoing dispute.
With both brothers referencing Charitha in public statements, the hard drive controversy is increasingly seen as the catalyst for escalating family tensions, complicating the film’s production and release prospects.
