Kalki 2898 AD, the highly anticipated film of 2024 has finally hit the screens, marking its release on June 27. With massive expectations, the film has swiftly emerged as a box office powerhouse, setting new records from its debut day. As per the reports, iIn India alone, it amassed an impressive Rs 95 crore, while globally, it has garnered around Rs 180 crore.
As the film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ continues its successful theatrical run, buzz surrounding its OTT release has begun to circulate widely. Reports indicate that the movie might come out on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
It is rumoured that Netflix acquired the rights for the Hindi version for Rs 175 crore, while Amazon Prime Video reportedly secured the rights of Kalki 2898 AD for the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam versions for Rs 200 crore.
Although there hasn’t been an official confirmation, sources suggest that the movie will not be released on streaming platforms until two months after its theatrical release.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ features Prabhas in the role of Bhairava, supported by an ensemble cast including Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, among others.
