A large crowd had gathered for the event, but a group of agitators reportedly stormed the stage, causing significant damage to chairs, microphones, lighting, and other musical equipment. Since the decline of the Sheikh Hasina government, unrest across the country has intensified, with attacks targeting cultural centers, statues, and public structures becoming increasingly frequent. Reports suggest that radical elements are behind many of these disturbances, raising concerns about public safety in Dhaka and other major cities.
James, a celebrated singer, songwriter, guitarist, and playback artist, is widely popular in Bangladesh and known for hit songs such as Bheegi Bheegi from Gangster and Alvida from Life in a Metro. The cancellation of the Dhaka concert has disappointed fans and underscored the growing tension affecting cultural events in the country.
