Thiruvuru: A missing case involving an Assistant Engineer from the Irrigation Department has triggered tension in Thiruvuru, NTR district, after a suicide note surfaced accusing senior officials and a local legislator of harassment and political interference.
The engineer, identified as Kishore from Anigillapadu village in Penuganchiprolu mandal, was working in the Thiruvuru Irrigation Division. In a suicide note reportedly shared in an official department WhatsApp group, Kishore alleged that Thiruvuru MLA Koli Kapaadi Srinivasa Rao, EE Gangayya, DEE Umashankar, and ENC B. Shyam Prasad were responsible for his death. The note also contained what appeared to be bloodstains, heightening concerns among family members.
According to the letter, Kishore was transferred to the NSC O&M Gauravaram section, but claimed that he was not relieved from his current post due to political pressure exerted by the MLA in collusion with senior irrigation officials. He stated that even though his uncle, a party leader, approached the ENC for intervention, no action was taken.
“My transfer was blocked by EE, DEE, ENC, and MLA Koli Kapaadi. As a Dalit employee, I faced severe injustice. Strict action must be taken so that no one else suffers the same fate,” Kishore wrote. He further demanded action against Senior Assistant Durgaprasad and Minister’s PA Bottu Srinivasa Rao.
Kishore reportedly vacated his rented house after receiving the transfer order. On Friday morning, he was last seen being dropped off by his uncle in a car. CCTV footage shows Kishore walking out of his office at around 2:45 PM. His last mobile location was traced to Penuballi in Khammam district, after which his phone was switched off.
Following the emergence of the suicide note, Irrigation Department officials alerted Thiruvuru police. A missing person complaint was filed by Kishore’s uncle Anandarau, who also named the individuals mentioned in the letter. Police have launched an investigation, and search efforts are currently underway.
