The conflict between Israel and Iran has intensified, with Israel launching a series of lightning strikes that have leveled multiple Iranian military installations. Codenamed Operation Rising Lion, the offensive specifically targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities and key military bases. The attacks reportedly killed Iran’s Armed Forces Chief Muhammad Bagheri and Revolutionary Guards Chief Hosseini Salami.
In retaliation, Iran conducted coordinated strikes on eight countries hosting U.S. military bases. American airbases, including Abu Dhabi Airbase, were targeted, resulting in at least one casualty. Explosions were also reported in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. Additionally, missile strikes hit areas near a mosque in Tehran, further escalating tensions.
Israel’s Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the strikes were aimed at Iran’s nuclear weapons projects. The targets included the main SPND nuclear project center, the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Tehran, and sites storing Iran’s nuclear weapons. The IDF emphasized that the operation was carefully planned to neutralize strategic nuclear and military capabilities.
The ongoing military escalation has heightened regional instability, with both Israel and Iran striking strategic military and nuclear sites. The attacks have raised international concerns over the potential for a broader conflict across the Middle East, prompting global attention on the rapidly evolving situation.
