IndiGo Processes ₹610 Crore Refunds; Crisis Management Group Formed

New Delhi: The IndiGo crisis continues to remain a major concern for the aviation sector. The central government has already directed the airline to refund ticket fares to affected passengers. The Ministry of Civil Aviation announced that refunds amounting to Rs 610 crore have been processed so far till Saturday The ministry further stated that around 3,000 pieces of stranded passenger luggage have been delivered across the country.

To stabilise operations and accelerate recovery, IndiGo has decided to constitute a Crisis Management Group comprising the CEO and board members. The move aims to streamline decision-making and ensure effective monitoring of the situation as the airline works to restore normalcy.

IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers confirmed that the restoration of services is progressing rapidly, with the airline currently operating 1,650 flights. He expressed confidence that the on-time performance (OTP) could reach 75% on Sunday. The airline also said it is providing services at 137 out of 138 airports nationwide, signalling gradual improvement in its operational network.
