Seoul: India added another gold to its tally at the Asian Athletics Championships underway in South Korea, as hurdler Jyothi Yarraji triumphed in the women’s 100m hurdles event. Yarraji clocked a time of 12.96 seconds to secure the gold medal, marking her continued dominance in the discipline.
With this win, India’s gold medal count at the championship has risen to four.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu congratulated Yarraji on her achievement, lauding her consistent performance on the international stage. A native of Andhra Pradesh, Yarraji had earlier won gold in the 2023 edition of the championships and secured a silver medal in the 200m event this year.
Recognising her athletic excellence, the Government of India had conferred the Arjuna Award on Yarraji.
