Burnaby, British Columbia: A 28-year-old Indian-origin man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Burnaby, British Columbia, prompting police to suspect possible gang-related violence.
The victim has been identified as Dil Raj Singh Gill, a Vancouver resident. Police said they received reports of a shooting on January 22 at 3700 Canada Way. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Gill lying in a pool of blood. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead.

Shortly after the incident, authorities discovered a burned vehicle on Buxton Street. Investigators believe the two events may be connected and are probing the case from multiple angles.
Police also confirmed that Gill was known to local law enforcement. Further investigations are underway to establish the exact motive behind the killing and identify those responsible.
