The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out early morning airstrikes on Sunday against the Hezbollah militant group operating from Lebanon, in what they described as “preemptive strikes” based on credible intelligence inputs. The action came after reports indicated that Hezbollah was preparing for large-scale attacks on Israeli territory.
According to Israeli military sources, more than 50 key infrastructure targets linked to Hezbollah were struck during the operation. The Israeli Air Force conducted heavy bombardment operations, marking a significant escalation in cross-border hostilities.

The strikes were carried out across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, targeting weapons depots, command centres, missile launch facilities, and rocket launchers used to attack Israeli border villages. These assets were reportedly central to Hezbollah’s operational network.
The IDF assessed that the attacks caused severe damage to Hezbollah’s strategic infrastructure and possibly resulted in the elimination of several militants. The operation comes amid escalating tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border, where Hezbollah has continued rocket attacks on northern Israel.
Reiterating its stance, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office stated that protecting Israeli citizens remains the top priority and operations will continue until the threat is neutralized. The region remains on high alert, while international observers are closely monitoring the evolving situation amid fears of further escalation.
