As Hyderabad experiences rapid urban growth, city residents continue to grapple with severe traffic congestion, with some areas seeing gridlock lasting hours. Addressing this issue, the government is advancing plans for new infrastructure, including flyovers and underpasses, to improve traffic flow and commuter convenience.
Following the BRS government’s previous initiatives to build flyovers and underpasses in Hyderabad, the current Congress administration is aligning with these efforts. The government has announced the development of a new skywalk near Parade Ground Metro Station to facilitate safer and more efficient pedestrian access.
Skywalk Project Details
Parade Ground Metro Station is a high-traffic zone, with a large number of daily commuters navigating the area. Currently, the proximity of a flyover forces passengers to exit the metro and cross busy streets, a daunting task due to the high volume of vehicular traffic. In response, GHMC has approved the construction of the new skywalk, which aims to ease pedestrian movement and enhance overall safety in one of the city’s most congested zones.
