Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited period action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu released worldwide today amid sky-high expectations. Starring Nidhhi Agerwal as the female lead, the film has been made on a grand scale with a budget exceeding Rs 250 crore.
Both Telugu state governments approved a temporary hike in ticket prices for the film and allowed special premiere shows a day in advance. These premiere screenings witnessed strong footfall, reportedly collecting over Rs 11 crore globally—Rs 7 crore from the Telugu states and around Rs 4 crore from overseas markets. Film trade analysts estimate the movie could gross over Rs 80 crore on its opening day alone.
Set in the 17th-century Mughal era, Hari Hara Veera Mallu follows the story of a legendary warrior who undertakes a daring mission to steal the famed Kohinoor diamond from the Mughals to liberate a city and ignite hope among oppressed people. Pawan Kalyan essays the titular role with high-octane action sequences and a commanding screen presence.
While the film has opened to a mixed response, fans praised Pawan’s performance and action sequences, though some expressed disappointment over the visual effects and screenplay.
Released as Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit, the film hints at a sequel titled Part 2 – Yuddhabhoomi during its climax. Reports suggest Amazon Prime Video has acquired the film’s digital rights, with the OTT release expected by the end of August.
