Guntur: Former Member of Parliament and YSR Congress Party leader, Gorantla Madhav, has been granted bail by the Guntur Court in connection with the attempted assault case involving Chebrolu Kiran. The court has directed Madhav to sign at the Nagaram Palem Police Station every Saturday for the next two months. He has been granted bail on a Rs 10,000 bond with two sureties.
Madhav was arrested for obstructing a police vehicle transporting Chebrolu Kiran from Mangalagiri to Guntur and allegedly threatening Kiran during the process. The incident occurred when Madhav followed the police vehicle to Guntur, causing a disturbance.
Police intervened, taking Madhav into custody for hindering official duties, which is considered a criminal offense. The Superintendent of Police (SP) confirmed that Madhav, along with five others, blocked the police vehicle near Chuttugunta. Madhav was also reportedly involved in an attack near the SP office. Following these actions, a non-bailable case was registered, and Madhav, along with six others, was arrested.
