The recent collapse of a retaining wall at the Sunkishala project near Nagarjuna Sagar in Nalgonda district has triggered widespread concern. The incident has been attributed to alleged lapses by Megha Engineering, the company that secured the project in 2016. Delays in the project’s completion are believed to have contributed to the mishap. Former Minister KTR and MLA Aletti Maheshwar Reddy have called for strict action against the responsible agency.

In response, the government has initiated measures to address the situation. Project Director Sudarshan has been transferred to a non-focal position, while key officials from Construction Circle-3, including CGM Kiran Kumar, GM Maria Raj, DGM Prashanth, and Manager Harish, have been suspended.

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary Dana Kishore issued the orders, following a report submitted by a committee of senior officials tasked with investigating the incident. The government has also issued show-cause notices to Megha Engineering and ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter.
