Vijayawada: YSRCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi faced another legal setback as the Gannavaram court extended his remand until April 1 in a fresh case. Already in judicial custody for the Satyavardhan kidnapping case, Vamsi is currently lodged in Vijayawada district jail.
On Tuesday, he was produced before the Gannavaram court on a PT warrant in connection with a land dispute case. The case involves a piece of land owned by a Muslim woman in Atkuru PS limits, Krishna district. Two individuals allegedly registered the land in their names, leading to a complaint from Sridhar, who claimed to have an agreement with the woman to purchase the property. Based on the complaint, Atkuru police registered a case against Ramu, Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Ranga, and another person, naming Vamsi as Accused No. 2 (A2).

Following the court’s remand order, Vamsi was transferred back to Vijayawada district jail. Meanwhile, he requested the court to direct jail authorities to provide him with a mattress and a fiber chair instead of an iron cot. The Gannavaram court stated that it could not issue such orders, clarifying that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the SC/ST special court. However, it noted that instructions regarding a fiber chair could be considered based on medical reports.
