A clip of former Russian politician and ex-FIDE president Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has gone viral on social media, reigniting discussions over his claims of being abducted by extraterrestrials. Ilyumzhinov, who served as the president of Russia’s Kalmykia Republic for more than 17 years, first spoke about the alleged incident in a 2010 television interview and recently revisited the topic on an American podcast.
In the interview, he described an alleged abduction in September 1997 from the balcony of his Moscow apartment by aliens aboard a spacecraft. He claimed the extraterrestrials were around two meters tall, wore yellow space suits, and communicated telepathically. Ilyumzhinov also stated that the aliens revealed they live in a different dimension and claimed to have invented the game of chess.
“We created humans.”
“We live in different dimensions.”
“You are currently at an embryonic level.”
The former President of a Russian Republic just alleged that aliens revealed the truth about humanity’s origins to him when he was taken on board a UFO in 1997.

He added that the beings presented themselves as peaceful observers and noted that human civilization was still in its early stages. At the time, many in Russia dismissed his claims as implausible, though the resurfaced clip has drawn renewed attention and curiosity on social media platforms.
Analysts and observers note that the clip highlights Ilyumzhinov’s controversial persona, blending his political career with extraordinary claims that continue to capture public interest years later.
