Guntur: Former YSRCP MP Gorantla Madhav, who was arrested on Thursday, has been remanded to 14 days judicial custody by the special mobile court in Guntur. The court order extends till April 24 and applies to five others arrested in the same case. Prior to the court appearance, all accused were taken from Nallapadu Police Station to Guntur Government General Hospital for mandatory medical tests.
Senior advocate and former Additional Advocate General Ponnavolu Sudhakar appeared on behalf of Madhav and urged the court to reject the remand request. However, the judge approved judicial custody. Authorities are now making arrangements to shift Madhav and the other accused to Nellore district jail.

Madhav Displays Aggressive Behaviour Again
Tensions escalated as Madhav allegedly behaved aggressively while being escorted to court. He reportedly refused to face the media and questioned the police, saying, “Would you bring a former MP in front of the media like this?” The incident drew sharp attention as he appeared visibly agitated.
Clash at Guntur SP Office Over Social Media Remarks
The incident follows a confrontation at the Guntur SP office where Madhav allegedly attempted to attack a person named Kiran Chebrolu, who was arrested for making objectionable remarks against YS Bharathi. The clash reportedly occurred in the presence of police officials. Madhav is said to have tried to physically assault Kiran, prompting the police to seize his escort vehicle and take him into custody.
According to Guntur SP Sateesh, four cases have been registered against Kiran. He was earlier arrested near Ibrahimpatnam based on a complaint filed by former minister Vidadala Rajini, who alleged that he had posted abusive content against her on social media.
Madhav’s arrest and remand come amid heightened political tensions, with the police maintaining strict vigil to prevent further disturbances.
