Former MLA and YSR Congress Party leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi has been granted conditional bail by the Gannavaram Court in a land grabbing case. The court’s decision comes after days of legal proceedings and sustained efforts by Vamsi’s legal team. He remains in judicial custody at Vijayawada Central Prison.
The case pertains to allegations that Vamsi encroached upon eight acres of land in Atkuru village, Krishna district. A complaint filed at the Atkuru Police Station led to the registration of the case. Police subsequently filed a petition seeking Vamsi’s custody for further investigation. After hearing arguments from both sides, the Gannavaram Court delivered its verdict on Monday, granting bail with conditions.
Despite the relief in the land grabbing case, Vamsi will continue to remain in jail due to his remand in the Satya Vardhan kidnapping case. He is one of the 12 accused named in the case. Investigations indicate that Komma Koteshwara Rao, a close aide of Vamsi and one of the prime accused, is currently in Nepal. Reports also suggest that several others linked to the case are absconding and believed to be in Nepal as well.
Police are continuing their efforts to trace the absconding accused. Meanwhile, Vamsi’s family and legal representatives are exploring legal options to seek bail in the remaining cases. Further developments in the ongoing investigations are awaited.
