YSRCP leader and former Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy’s actions during the recent elections have become a focal point of controversy in the state. Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy was involved in an incident where he allegedly damaged an EVM and obstructed its use, leading to an attack on Karampudi CI Narayanaswamy. He was subsequently arrested and is currently lodged in Nellore Central Jail.
In response, Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court, filing a petition seeking bail. The petition pertains to the assault on TDP agent Namburi Seshagiri Rao during the elections and the assault on CI Narayanaswamy post-polling in Karampudi. Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy assured the court that he would abide by its conditions and argued that his arrest was a result of political vendetta and misuse of power. Despite these claims, his bail plea has already been rejected twice by the Guntur court. Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy has been in Nellore Central Jail for the past 40 days.
