A young man allegedly launched an attack on the residence of former YSR Congress Party minister Mudragada Padmanabham in Kirlampudi, Kakinada district, early this morning. At around 3:00 AM, the individual drove a tractor to the location and caused significant damage, including destroying a parked car by crashing it. Witnesses reported that the young man also shouted slogans of “Jai Janasena” after the incident.

The attacker, identified as Ganishetti Gangadhar, a Janasena Party worker, claimed that he carried out the act after being promised a payment of Rs 50,000. Following the incident, the police were informed and promptly reached the scene, taking Gangadhar into custody. It was revealed that Gangadhar had been intoxicated at the time of the attack, during which he also damaged plexiglass structures in addition to the car.
The police are investigating whether Gangadhar acted independently or if other individuals were involved in orchestrating the attack. Following the incident, Mudragada’s supporters gathered at his residence to express their outrage.
YSR Congress Party leaders have raised concerns over a series of attacks against party members, particularly after their party’s poor performance in the recent general elections, where they secured only 11 seats. They allege that the new coalition government has been targeting party leaders through attacks and the filing of cases against them.
