Hyderabad: Former Minister Mallareddy has found himself repeatedly in the headlines, facing a series of controversies. From complaints regarding land encroachments to allegations of building colleges on government land, the former minister has been dealing with mounting challenges. On top of this, students at his colleges have been protesting over issues related to fees and poor food quality, further adding to the ongoing disputes.
In the latest development, revenue officials have once again targeted Mallareddy, conducting a survey on land associated with his university in the Medchal district. Yadgiri and Sattemma, two individuals, have filed a case in the Medchal district court, claiming that Mallareddy has illegally occupied 12 acres of land that belongs to them. Following this, the court directed officials to carry out a land survey at the university, and a full report was to be submitted. On Monday, local revenue officials began the survey, examining the 12 acres of land in question.

The officials are expected to reveal the details regarding the extent of land Mallareddy possesses at the university, as well as the amount of land he has allegedly encroached upon. In the past, Mallareddy’s residences and offices were raided by Income Tax (IT) officials as part of investigations into his activities. He has also faced accusations of occupying ponds, lakes, and government lands to construct colleges and schools.
In earlier instances, Congress leaders had filed complaints with the Hydra Commissioner, A.V. Ranganathan, regarding Mallareddy’s alleged land encroachments. According to reports, Mallareddy has illegally occupied land across several locations, including Nallakunta Cheruvu, Suthari Cheruvu, and Kometikunta, where he has built multiple educational institutions like the CMR Medical College and CMR Engineering College.

The allegations also extend to Mallareddy’s son-in-law, Mallareddy’s son-in-law Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, who has reportedly encroached upon several ponds and lakes and been involved in various illegal activities. It is also noted that Mallareddy owns 38 engineering colleges, including the Narayana Hrudayalaya and Mallareddy Medical College, as well as numerous schools, petrol stations, shopping malls, and several hundred acres of land across multiple locations.
Amid these controversies, Mallareddy’s educational institutions are facing scrutiny, with growing accusations that they were built on illegally acquired land. Additionally, individuals like Yadgiri and Sattemma have recently approached the court, claiming that Mallareddy illegally occupied land for his colleges. As the revenue department continues its survey on the university’s land, it remains to be seen what further developments will unfold in this ongoing case.
