Vijayawada: In a major development in the Andhra Pradesh fake liquor case, former minister and YSRCP leader Jogi Ramesh was arrested by the Excise Department police in NTR district’s Ibrahimpatnam on Saturday. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) reached his residence early in the morning and took him into custody following a detailed inquiry.
According to police officials, the key accused in the case, Addepalli Janardhan Rao (A1), stated that the counterfeit liquor was manufactured under the influence and encouragement of Jogi Ramesh. Acting on this testimony, the police detained the former minister. His close aide, Arepalli Ramu, was also taken into custody and shifted to Bhavanipuram Police Station.
