Amaravati: Former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan has been hospitalized following health complications, including severe back pain and leg numbness. The police transferred him from the Vijayawada sub-jail to a hospital for treatment. Vamsi is currently under judicial remand in connection with a kidnapping case.
Vamsi was arrested in relation to the kidnapping of computer operator Satyavardhan, based on a complaint filed by Muddunuri Satyavardhan, the operator at the Gannavaram TDP office. The police have charged Vamsi under sections 143, 147, 148, 435, 506 read with 149 of the IPC, as well as Section 3(1) of the SC/ST Act. The charges also include allegations against Vamsi’s associates for damaging office property and attacking TDP leaders, in addition to setting vehicles on fire. The police identified the accused through CCTV footage.

The authorities suspect that Vamsi may have been involved in orchestrating the attack. In addition to this case, Vamsi is also facing another charge involving an alleged land deal. A complaint filed by Sridhar claims that Vamsi entered into an agreement with a woman for land purchase, which has led to further investigation by the Atkuru police. In this case, Vamsi is listed as A2. Despite these legal issues, Vamsi remains in judicial custody while undergoing medical treatment.
