Controversial comments by U.S. political figure Chandler Langevin targeting Indians have ignited widespread outrage. The conservative leader from Florida posted on social media calling for the immediate expulsion of every Indian living in the United States, prompting strong backlash from the public and local authorities. The Palm Bay City Council subsequently intervened to address the situation.
Reports indicate that Langevin has been posting anti-Indian content since last month. In one instance, he blamed an Indian truck driver for the death of a woman and demanded that all Indians in the U.S. be expelled immediately. In another post, he accused Indians of exploiting the American economy and claimed that the country belongs solely to Americans, adding that not a single Indian cared about the nation.
Palm Bay Mayor condemned Langevin’s remarks, stating that such statements are unacceptable, demeaning, and have no place in the city. The mayor emphasized that individuals promoting hate or discrimination against any community would not be tolerated. Despite these warnings, Langevin continued posting provocative messages, including one on his birthday calling for the cancellation of visas of all Indians and tagging former U.S. President Donald Trump.
In response to his actions, the Palm Bay City Council removed Langevin from his committee position and issued directives to prevent him from making similar statements in the future. Langevin, however, publicly criticized the council’s decisions, maintaining his controversial stance, further fueling the ongoing debate and scrutiny over his remarks.
