Fine Rice Distribution Receives Positive Response; Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy Warns Against Irregularities

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has stated that the fine rice distribution scheme has been well received, benefiting nearly 80% of the poor in the state. He made these remarks during a video conference on Friday with district collectors and public representatives to review the implementation of the scheme.

The minister directed elected representatives to visit beneficiaries’ homes and dine with them to assess the quality of rice being supplied. He also announced that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will have a meal at a beneficiary’s residence in Bhadrachalam on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami.

Emphasizing the need for transparency, Uttam Kumar Reddy warned that strict action would be taken against any irregularities in the distribution process. He urged public representatives to regularly inspect ration shops to ensure smooth implementation.

The fine rice distribution programme was officially launched by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy at a public meeting in Huzurnagar, Suryapet district. Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari has confirmed that around 10 lakh new ration cards will soon be issued.

She also acknowledged that the initiative would place an additional financial burden on the state government but reaffirmed its commitment to supporting economically weaker sections.
