In celebration of World Youth Skills Day, Dr. Kashinath Samagandi, Director of the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) and Head of the Yoga Certification Board (YCB), delivered a keynote address at Vishwa Yuvak Kendra (VYK). As the Guest of Honour, Dr. Samagandi underscored the critical importance of skills in everyday life, drawing on the Bhagavad Gita’s shloka “Yogaha Karmasu Kaushalam” to highlight the essence of skill in action.
Dr. Samagandi elaborated on Yoga as a career skill, emphasizing its potential to open up employment opportunities both domestically and internationally. He linked this to the theme of the 10th International Day of Yoga, “Yoga for Self & Society,” and encouraged the youth to embrace Yoga as both a lifestyle and a career path. He also provided information on the variety of online and offline courses available through MDNIY to help individuals enhance their Yoga skills.
In addition to Dr. Samagandi’s address, Sharad Munde from YCB presented on “Yoga as Skill,” offering detailed insights into the courses offered at MDNIY. The event was well-attended, with over 200 participants from various NGOs, marking it as a significant and impactful occasion.
