Hyderabad: The Election Commission has released the schedule for Member of Legislative Council (MLC) elections in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In Telangana, elections will be held for two teacher constituencies and one graduate constituency, while Andhra Pradesh will witness elections for two graduate constituencies and one teacher constituency.
As per the schedule, polling will take place on February 27, and the counting of votes will be held on March 3. The official notification will be issued on February 3, following which the nomination process will commence.

In Andhra Pradesh, elections will be conducted for the East-West Godavari and Krishna-Guntur graduate constituencies, along with the Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam teachers’ constituency. In Telangana, elections will be held for the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad graduate constituency and the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda teacher constituencies.

With the announcement of the election schedule, the model code of conduct will come into effect in the respective districts, restricting the implementation of new government schemes and fund allocations. In Telangana, key initiatives such as Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Indlu, and the issuance of new ration cards may be temporarily halted.
