Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has commenced proceedings regarding the Full Tank Level (FTL) of Durgam Cheruvu, with Chief Justice Alok Aradhe leading the bench. The case arises from a petition filed by Priyatham Reddy, who contests the reported FTL measurement of 160 acres. Reddy has pointed out that historical records indicate the FTL only encompasses 65 acres.

The High Court has adjourned the hearing on this matter until Monday, issuing notices to the Revenue and Irrigation Departments, as well as the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), to provide clarifications on the issue.

In related developments, HMDA is actively demolishing various constructions within the FTL and buffer zone of several lakes under its jurisdiction. Reports indicate that multiple structures have already been dismantled, and demolition efforts are ongoing.
