Ernakulam: Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan and his production banner Vefeer Films are currently in the spotlight following a complaint of alleged sexual harassment linked to a casting opportunity. A young woman approached Ernakulam South Police Station claiming that she was sexually harassed under the pretext of being offered a role in a film. The complaint has quickly become a trending topic on social media.
The woman alleged that associate director Dinil Babu, claiming affiliation with Vefeer Films, promised her a role in an upcoming project but attempted to sexually exploit her. She stated that Babu asked her to meet privately at a building near the Vefeer Films office in Panampilly Nagar, under the guise of discussing her role. Once there, he allegedly tried to harass her and threatened that non-cooperation would affect her opportunities in Malayalam cinema. She also released voice messages as evidence to support her claim.
