Film producer Dil Raju has issued a strong statement against drug use in the Telugu film industry, declaring that anyone found consuming drugs will be banned from the industry. Speaking at an awareness program organized by the Telangana government to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse, he emphasized the need for collective responsibility in making Telangana a drug-free state.
Raju stated that if any individual is confirmed to be using drugs, strict action would be taken, including permanent exclusion from the industry. He added that the Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC) would collaborate with senior industry figures to ensure compliance. “Only through such firm steps will society receive a clear message,” he said.
Actor Ram Charan, who also participated in the event, thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for organizing the initiative. Recalling his own school participation in awareness drives, he lauded the police for tackling drug-related issues near schools and called on the youth to act as soldiers in the fight against drugs.
Actor Vijay Deverakonda expressed concern about the influence of drugs on youth, sharing his realization of the issue’s seriousness after interacting with police officials during a shoot. He warned that drugs can destroy lives and urged young people to stay away from peers involved in substance abuse. “A country doesn’t need war to collapse—addicting its youth is enough,” he said.
