Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan conducted a video conference from the state secretariat to issue key directives on the execution of the Employment Guarantee Scheme. The conference addressed the upcoming Gram Sabha meetings scheduled for the 23rd of this month, which are to be held in all gram panchayats statewide.
Pawan Kalyan emphasized that 46 types of projects are eligible for funding under the Employment Guarantee Scheme. He highlighted the substantial financial investment involved, noting that “thousands of crores of rupees” are being allocated through this scheme. The Deputy Chief Minister stressed the importance of responsible spending, stating, “Every rupee should be spent responsibly” to ensure the scheme’s objectives are met.
He instructed officials at the mandal, village, and district levels to take responsibility for the scheme’s implementation, and called for strict oversight by the social audit department. The video conference was attended by P.R. & R.D. Principal Secretary Shashi Bhushan Kumar, Commissioner Krishna Teja, and other senior officials, including ZP CEOs, DPOs, DWAMA PDs from 26 districts, MPDOs in mandals, EO PRDs, Panchayat Secretaries, and APOs involved in the Employment Guarantee Scheme.
