Cyclone Montha — the name currently shaking Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Odisha — has intensified, bringing heavy rainfall across all three states. The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has rapidly strengthened into a severe cyclone and is expected to make landfall near Kakinada within the next few hours.

However, weather experts have noted an unexpected development — Cyclone Montha has changed its course. It is now likely to cross the coast between Antharvedipalem and Amalapuram in Konaseema district. Officials have warned that the next three to four hours are extremely critical, as the landfall process has already begun. The complete landfall could take nearly six hours, according to meteorological officials.
