New Delhi: A political controversy has erupted after the Indian National Congress’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle reposted a morphed image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, originally shared by former Pakistan minister Fawad Ahmed Hussain. The image, which depicts Modi without a head, was captioned by Hussain: “I heard the horns are missing from the donkey’s head, but here the entire Modi is missing.”
Congress’s repost of the image, accompanied by the caption “Gayaab” (missing), was seen as a veiled dig at the Prime Minister’s absence from the recent all-party meeting held to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack. The post has triggered sharp criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which accused the Congress of promoting content originating from across the border during a sensitive time.

BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia addressed the media on Tuesday, displaying a screenshot of the tweet and stating, “There exists a national political party among us, but if we refer to them as ‘Lashkar-e-Pakistan Congress,’ would it be wrong?” He added that the Congress’s social media activity was sending out a message of support to Pakistan-based propaganda.
The image was originally shared by the former Pakistani minister using the hashtag #NaughtyCongress, further intensifying the controversy. BJP leaders alleged that by engaging with such content, the Congress party was amplifying narratives detrimental to national interest.
Congress flaunts a headless kurta to echo the extremist 'Sar Tan Se Juda' slogan, exposing its continuous slide into Muslim League 2.0 — divisive, desperate, and directionless.
