New Delhi: Oil marketing companies on Sunday announced a revision in LPG prices for February, increasing the cost of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹49 across the country, effective from February 1. With the hike, the price of a commercial cylinder in Delhi has risen from ₹1,691.50 to ₹1,740.50. The repeated price hikes have added to the burden on traders and business establishments, who had earlier benefited from rate cuts. In the previous revision, commercial LPG prices were increased by ₹111. Analysts caution that the latest hike could lead to higher food prices, particularly affecting hotels, restaurants, and catering services.
It may be noted that commercial LPG rates were reduced six times since April 2025, bringing down prices by nearly ₹223. However, rates began climbing again from November and December. The latest increase, announced on the day of Union Budget 2026, has triggered fresh discussions among consumers and industry circles.
